You may enter - a series about openings, light, and movement
Dive into the meaning of light. I call the series You may enter. Cracks of light spill in and out of openings, passages, and corridors. Hands rise from the sea, fingers open into a forest, legs kick doors open, and plants creep into new territories.
The intuition is my guide in this project, almost as it was when I first began painting many years ago. There is no hiding - no time for pauses. The paintings are a direct pulse, a nerve, and an abject.
Painting is always a delicate balance between the open and the closed, between creation and space. A strong work must contain both life and death. If the brushstrokes, gestures, or execution are too rigid, the expression feels tame; if too loose, we are lost. It is a constant dance, and I love that rhythm.
